Dagney Benton
Dagney Benton’s practice
covers all areas of intellectual property, including the
filing and prosecution of Canadian and Foreign patent
applications as well as Canadian Industrial Design
applications. As a member of the firm’s Engineering Patent
Group, specializing in the patentability of software related
inventions; Dagney prepares international patent applications
for wireless communication systems, new and improved Internet
technologies and portable electronic communication systems.
Dagney also attends to the
prosecution of Canadian and Foreign trademark applications and
is involved with settlement agreements, opposition
proceedings, expungement proceedings, analyzing search results
and providing trademark registrability opinions.
Prior to attending law
school, Dagney was employed with a municipality specializing
in preparing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the
roads, water, and sewer systems within the municipality.
