No billable targets
MBM is different, plain and simple. Our
business model is different, our management structure is different
and our culture is different.
Our business model reflects a corporate
structure just like our clients: a flat hierarchy where teamwork
is encouraged with recognition that everyone has a contribution
to make. We dont have billable targets
something unheard of in the legal profession. Instead, we
run on an efficiency model, again just like our clients. Without
billable targets, there is plenty of time at the end of the
day to recharge and pursue a balanced lifestyle.
Like our clients, our management structure
is also based on a corporate model. It means that, alongside
our partners, we have trained business professionals who look
after the business side of things.
Egos get checked at the door
Naturally it follows that our culture would
be different. Our environment fosters open communication and
our work style is collaborative because egos have long since
been checked at the door. If this sounds good, its because
our values of respect, cooperation and teamwork are an integral
part of how we do business and evaluate performance.
Work Hard - Play Hard
We know its good business to work to live,
not the reverse. We take our work seriously, but we take time
to have fun too. Cottage parties, a golf tournament, seasonal
parties, charity auctions, potluck lunches, diversity days,
karaoke nights and of course our sports teams (including Ultimate
and pick up soccer)... are just some of the ways we have fun!
