What makes MBM so great?

What can I expect?

How will I be valued?

Challenging work

You will work on a team with other professionals including lawyers, patent and trademark agents, paralegal staff, and other specialists who have a wide range of expertise in the areas of biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, mechanical and civil engineering, electronics, e-commerce, computer, communication technologies and business.

You’ll want to demonstrate your “whatever I can do to help” attitude because you understand that it’s what sustained growth takes.

As your expertise develops, so will your role. We understand the value of being challenged. Our members are encouraged to expand the boundaries of their roles, to seek out gaps and fill them with their knowledge and experiences. We give you challenging work but we also expect you to challenge yourself.

Continuous learning

It all starts with an orientation of our practice areas: Patents, Trademarks and Legal / Litigation. You will be introduced to all the members in each department and given an introduction to their key responsibilities, functions, systems and processes and how other departments support you.

And the learning doesn’t stop there. There is on-the-job training, “lunch ‘n learn” sessions, study groups, external workshops / conferences and of course ‘brain picking’. You and your Hub Leader will work out where the best learning opportunities are for you.

To know where you stand

We have developed an employee performance system that outlines the expectations for each position in the firm. There are also clearly defined performance standards for the entire firm.

You will participate in your performance review and evaluation with your Hub Leader who provides concrete feedback about your performance, including feedback about your interaction with other members of the firm. This gives everyone an opportunity for open discussion and on going feedback.
