Brent Capehart is a U.S. and Canadian IP lawyer with over 20 years of experience. He is also a barrister and solicitor in Ontario, Canada, and an Aerospace Engineer. Brent’s extensive experience practicing before the USPTO includes work in the mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, telecommunication, software, aerospace, healthcare, energy, semiconductor and agriculture industries. He has represented clients at various levels of the US federal and state courts, including the US Supreme Court, US Court of Appeal (federal), and US District courts, and State trial and appellate courts in 11 states. Brent’s practice encompasses the development, acquisition, protection, enforcement, licensing and management of US, Canadian and international IP portfolios.

Brent has a Masters of Law from the John Marshall Law School, a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law, and Bachelor of Science from Penn State University, with a major in Aerospace Engineering and minor in Mathematics.

Brent was previously the Chair of the IP Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law.
