Sylvain Audet
Sylvain Audet counsels
clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, with
particular emphasis on patents, trade secrets, copyright and
unfair competition. His practice includes the prosecution of
contentious trademark applications before the Canadian
Trade-Marks Office and as a member of the firm's litigation
department, Sylvain has experience with both the Provincial
and Federal Courts. Sylvain's practice also involves patent
prosecution, patent drafting, as well as IP portfolio
coordination and IP agreements drafting.
Sylvain further has a
focused interest and has written about IP issues such as
patent valuation, IP-competition law interface, grey
goods/parallel importations and IP statutes evolution.
Sylvain’s work experience
prior to joining MBM includes work with the Corporate Law
Policy Directorate at Industry Canada, an internship with the
Canadian Trademark Opposition Board, and work as a legal
researcher with the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
Sylvain practices in both
French and English.
