Sharon Griffin
Sharon Griffin resolves
the legal and litigation issues airing from MBM's patent,
trademark, industrial design, and copyright practice. She is
an advocate before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of
Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the
Trade-marks Opposition Board. Sharon advises clients on
intellectual property risk management strategy and
intellectual property commercialization strategy. She
negotiates and crafts commercial agreements relating to
intellectual property including: collaborative research
agreements; licenses; assignments; technical consulting and
development agreements; technology transfer agreements;
material transfer agreements; distribution agreements;
non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements; settlement
agreement; and escrow agreements.
Sharon’s background, prior
to joining MBM, included work with Health Canada developing
the legal framework for Canada's new health protection
legislation. Sharon is a founding member of MBM's NOC Practice
Group. She has built upon her past experience at Health Canada
and now advises our clients on issues relating to the Food
and Drugs Act and Regulations, the Patented Medicines
(Notice of Compliance) Regulations, the Natural Health
Product Regulations, and the Patented Medicines Prices
Review Board. The range of issues within Sharon's expertise
include: the regulatory approval of drugs, medical devices,
and natural health products; the Patent List; data
protection/exclusivity; and the pricing of patented medicines
in Canada.
