Michelle
Li
Michelle Li focuses her
practice on intellectual property rights litigation including
issues related to patent, trademark, trade secret,
confidential information, industrial design and copyright law.
She attends to the prosecution and enforcement of Canadian and
international client's patent and trademark rights and also
assists in preparing infringement and validity opinions as
well as developing intellectual property strategies. Michelle
also negotiates and drafts various intellectual
property-related agreements.
Prior to joining MBM,
Michelle obtained her Masters of Science degree from the
University of Toronto. The focus of her research involved the
study of genetic mechanisms that regulate the behaviour of
cells during morphogenesis of tissues and organs. She is also
co-author on several scientific publications related to her
research, and has presented her research at a number of
international conferences. Michelle's achievements during her
graduate studies were recognized in 2001 when she received the
Yoshio Masui Prize, an award given to a graduate student who
has achieved excellence in the field of developmental, cell
biology, or genetic research.
