Dr. Kay Palmer
Kay Palmer drafts and prosecutes, and completes patents in the fields of biochemical, pharmaceutical and molecular biology, with an emphasis on molecular biology, immunology and gene therapy. Kay corresponds with foreign associates in order to coordinate the IP needs of national and international clients.
Kay also has expertise in the Patented Medicines (Notice of
Compliance) Regulations, particularly on issues relating
to patent claim eligibility for listing patents. Kay has
assisted clients in the preparation and submission of patent
lists.
Kay's experience in the fields of scientific research consists of projects in the development of novel anti-cancer therapies which include anti-cancer immunotherapy, anti-cancer gene therapy, antisense and anti-angiogenesis approaches.
Kay also assisted in the teaching of undergraduate courses in
immunology.
Her expertise extends to a variety of scientific techniques including a wide range of molecular biology, gene therapy and immunology techniques. Kay has constructed and tested numerous adenoviral vectors and has experience in the construction of single chain antibodies as well as the use of a variety of immunological assays, such as CTL assays, ELISAs, immunohistochemistry and
Western Blotting. Kay also assisted in the teaching of undergraduate courses immunology.
Kay has co-authored several paper related to her research in the development of effective therapies for the treatment of cancer, and her papers have appeared in the American Journal of Pathology, Journal of Immunology and Journal of Gene Therapy. She has also presented her research at various international conferences.
Kay is a Registered
Canadian Patent Agent and her practice extends to assisting in
patent litigation matters.
