Lisa Y. Sim
Lisa Sim is co-chair of the
Vancouver Patent Department. Lisa’s practice focuses on patent
portfolio development, including the drafting and prosecution
of biopharma patent applications in Canada and worldwide,
legal opinions relating to patentability and
freedom-to-practice, and the designing of patent strategy
documents. She advises clients on invention protection,
inventorship and ownership, and worldwide patent portfolio
development and maintenance to ensure that the clients'
business objectives are supported. Lisa works closely with
clients and a wide network of associates to coordinate the
worldwide management of patent portfolios.
Lisa is a co-author of a
number of scientific publications reporting the results of her
graduate research. Lisa's public speaking engagements have
covered both general intellectual property issues and
specialized topics in the area of biotechnology patenting.
Lisa is a Registered
Canadian Patent and Trademark Agent.
