Marina Stipanac

Marina Stipanac is a Trademark Agent and Chair of the Firm’s Trademark Practice Group. Marina has a wide range of experience in trademark filing and prosecution in Canada and abroad, with particular expertise in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. She is responsible for the management of the firm's Canadian filing department and, under her guidance, MBM has become one of the leading firms in electronic filings. Marina also has a wide range of experience in trademark searches, registrability opinions, domestic prosecution, opposition and expungement proceedings. She coordinates MBM’s clients’ international trademark portfolios and designs strategic plans to maximize the effectiveness and longevity of their marks.

Prior to joining MBM, Marina worked as an educator in Yugoslavia before moving to Canada and beginning her career in intellectual property law.

In her qualifying year, Marina won the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's Education Foundation Award for the highest mark on the Trademark Agent qualifying exam.
